Join us for a workshop and walk on the JCCC campus with Craig Freeman, Senior Curator of Botany, and Caleb Morse, Senior Collection Manager of the R.L. McGregor Herbarium, both with the KU Biodiversity Institute and Natural History Museum. Learn how to identify native plants in our region and the importance of planting native plants to support essential ecosystems. Explore some of the native plantings that the JCCC Sustainability department has maintained on campus.

This program was inspired by the artwork by Cecilia Vicuña, Semiya (Seed Song), featured in Actions for the Earth: Art, Care, & Ecology.

Note: Wear weather appropriate clothing, a portion of the program will involve walking outdoors.
