The Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art at Johnson County Community College is proud to present the first exhibition to explore the shared references that unite contemporary artist Katherine Bernhardt’s paintings and fashion designer Jeremy Scott’s iconic looks.
Join us to learn more about this exhibition, and meet Katherine Bernhardt, American artist (b. 1975, St. Louis, Missouri) and Jeremy Scott, American fashion designer (b. 1975, Kansas City, Missouri).
Bernhardt and Scott are known for creative work that engages with themes of consumer and popular culture and irreverent humor. This exhibition presents more than 100 looks by Scott and over 35 paintings by Bernhardt, which creates a dynamic pop culture extravaganza. These two elite artists work in disparate mediums and transform the mundane into the spectacular.
Area media is invited to experience this unique exhibition 2-5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, prior to the public opening with media-friendly exhibition tours and media availability with Scott and Bernhardt.
This exhibition opens to the public at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2025. The opening reception includes an artist talk with both Bernhardt and Scott. The exhibition will be on view through August 3, 2025.
